Software Engineer Full Stack (Frontend Focused)
About the Role :
We are looking for a highly skilled Full Stack Software Engineer with strong expertise in React and TypeScript and solid backend engineering experience. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy building intuitive, high-performance web applications while contributing to scalable backend services, data models, APIs, and cloud-native systems.
The role is primarily frontend-focused (approximately 60%), with meaningful backend ownership (approximately 40%). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing customer-facing applications, building backend services, creating scalable APIs, designing database schemas, and solving complex software engineering challenges.
As part of a product company, you will primarily develop on the organizations Cloud, a large-scale SaaS platform, while occasionally contributing software enhancements directly on the drone platform itself.
You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to build end-to-end features that enable customers to operate and scale mission-critical systems while delivering exceptional user experiences.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Frontend Development (60%) :
- Design and develop modern, responsive web applications using React and TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Build reusable, maintainable UI components with a strong focus on performance, scalability, accessibility, and user experience.
- Own and evolve customer-facing features from concept through production deployment.
- Develop intuitive workflows, dashboards, management interfaces, and real-time user experiences.
- Implement effective state management strategies and optimize frontend performance.
- Participate in frontend architecture decisions and establish engineering best practices.
2. Backend Development (40%) :
- Design and develop backend services, APIs, and business logic supporting frontend applications.
- Build and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Design and implement scalable cloud-native applications capable of handling complex workflows and high-volume usage.
- Design database schemas and data models that support performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Design and optimize database schemas, data models, and entity relationships using SQL or NoSQL databases to support scalable application development.
- Collaborate with engineers across the stack to deliver cohesive end-to-end solutions.
3. System Design & Architecture :
- Contribute to software architecture discussions and technical solution design.
- Design systems involving services, APIs, databases, storage layers, and cloud infrastructure.
- Evaluate architectural trade-offs and recommend scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Understand how distributed system components interact and communicate.
- Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations across the application stack.
4. Engineering Excellence :
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions.
- Demonstrate strong software engineering fundamentals and problem-solving abilities.
- Drive features through the complete software development lifecycle.
- Continuously improve code quality, system reliability, and engineering practices.
Required Skills & Experience :
1. Frontend :
- 8 - 13 years of experience building production-grade web applications.
- Strong expertise in React and TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Deep understanding of : 1. Component architecture 2. State management 3. Frontend performance optimization 4. Responsive design 5. Accessibility best practices.
- Experience building customer-facing applications at scale.
2. Backend :
- Strong experience developing backend services using Python, Go Language, Node.js, or similar technologies.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Experience implementing business logic and workflow orchestration.
- Strong understanding of cloud-based application development.
3. Data Modelling & Databases :
- Experience designing database schemas and data models for real-world business scenarios.
- Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL).
- Ability to model entities, relationships, indexing strategies, and query patterns.
- Experience making architecture decisions regarding data storage and scalability.
- Ability to explain database design decisions and trade-offs.
4. System Design :
- Strong understanding of software system components and how they interact.
- Experience designing systems involving: 1. APIs 2. Services 3. Databases 4. Storage systems 5. Clients/UI applications.
- Understanding of scalability, maintainability, reliability, and performance considerations.
- Ability to communicate architectural decisions clearly.
