Job Description :
Role Overview :
As a Snowflake DBT Developer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing our next-generation data warehousing solutions. You will spend your days building robust and scalable data pipelines, transforming raw data into actionable insights using Snowflake and DBT.
This role involves close collaboration with data architects, data scientists, business analysts, and various cross-functional teams to understand complex business requirements and translate them into efficient data models and ETL/ELT processes. Your contributions will directly empower data-driven decision-making across the organization, enhancing our analytical capabilities and driving significant business outcomes for our customers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and implement scalable data models within Snowflake, leveraging DBT for version-controlled, modular, and testable transformations, ensuring high data quality and integrity for downstream analytics.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain robust ETL/ELT processes to ingest and transform data from diverse sources into our Snowflake data warehouse, ensuring efficient data flow and timely availability for reporting.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and data consumers to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver data solutions that directly address critical business questions and enhance user experience (UX) of data consumption.
- Perform rigorous data validation, testing, and documentation for all developed data pipelines and models, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and maintainability of our data assets.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data architecture, governance, and best practices, fostering a culture of data excellence and innovation across the team.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated expertise in Snowflake database administration, performance tuning, and advanced SQL for complex data manipulation, querying, and optimization within a data warehousing environment.
- Proven ability to design and implement sophisticated data models (e.g., dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas) using DBT, including package management, macros, and testing frameworks.
- Strong understanding and practical experience with ETL/ELT methodologies, data pipeline orchestration, and data integration patterns to build efficient and resilient data flows.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate data solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Adaptability to work effectively in a dynamic, multi-location environment across Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Visakhapatnam/Vizag, Pune, and Delhi, contributing to a cohesive team culture.
- A foundational understanding of how data is consumed and presented, with an appreciation for UX principles in data visualization and reporting to enhance user understanding.
Technical/Functional Skills :
- Strong experience in Snowflake (data modeling, ETL/ELT, performance tuning)
- Hands-on experience with DBT (data transformation, models, workflows)
- Proficiency in SQL and scripting (Python/JavaScript)
- Good understanding of data warehousing concepts (ETL, data marts, schemas)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Exposure to data pipelines, Git/version control
- Knowledge of data governance, quality, and security
- Basic understanding of big data tools (Spark/Hadoop) good to have
