DLP Implementation Specialist (Microsoft Purview)

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced DLP Implementation Specialist with strong expertise in Microsoft Purview Information Protection & DLP to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-wide data protection solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in deploying and managing Microsoft data security technologies, developing data protection policies, investigating incidents, and driving data governance initiatives across cloud and on-premises environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Implement, configure, and administer Microsoft Purview Information Protection, DLP, and Sensitivity Labeling solutions.

- Design and deploy data protection controls across Microsoft 365, Endpoint, Cloud Applications, and SaaS environments.

- Configure and manage Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE), Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (CASB), and Information Rights Management (IRM) capabilities.

- Create, tune, and optimize DLP policies to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy.

- Monitor and investigate DLP incidents, policy violations, insider risks, and data exfiltration attempts.

- Collaborate with business units to identify, classify, and protect sensitive data assets.

- Perform policy lifecycle management, including implementation, testing, tuning, reporting, and governance reviews.

- Integrate Microsoft security solutions with enterprise security platforms and workflows.

- Support automation, operational improvements, and remediation activities for data protection programs.

- Maintain security metrics, dashboards, KPIs, and SLAs related to DLP performance and incident management.

- Provide technical guidance and best practices to internal teams and stakeholders.

- Assist in regulatory compliance initiatives and security audits.

Mandatory Skills :

- 8 - 10 years of experience in Information Security with a strong focus on Data Loss Prevention (DLP).

- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview Information Protection, Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Sensitivity Labels, Information Rights Management (IRM), Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE), and Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (CASB).

- Strong understanding of Data Classification, Data Governance, Data Protection, Incident Investigation, DLP Policy Tuning, and Insider Risk scenarios.

- Experience working with cloud-based security architectures and Microsoft 365 environments.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with data governance solutions such as Varonis, Proofpoint, Symantec, or Forcepoint DLP.

- Hands-on experience with PowerShell, KQL, or security automation.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Defender XDR and Microsoft Security Ecosystem.

- Experience supporting compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and NIST.

- Microsoft Security, Purview, SC-400, SC-200, or related certifications preferred.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
