Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly experienced Storage Firmware Engineer with 15+ years of expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing firmware for enterprise-class storage products.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of HDD, SSD, NVMe, SAS, SATA, Flash Translation Layer (FTL), and storage controller architectures.

The role involves leading firmware development from architecture through product deployment, optimizing performance, and contributing to next-generation storage innovations.

Key Responsibilities :

Firmware Architecture & Development :

- Design, develop, and maintain firmware for enterprise HDD storage products involving SAS/SATA and ZAC/ZBC.

- Define firmware architecture, software frameworks, and module interfaces for scalable storage solutions.

- Manage the firmware/software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, implementation, validation, and release.

- Implement and improve algorithms and participate in verification and production activities.

Storage Technology Leadership :

- Drive the development of advanced storage features, including Middleware/Flash Translation Layer (FTL), Garbage Collection, Error Recovery, Power-Fail Management, and Storage Protocols (SATA, SAS, NVMe).

- Collaborate on future storage technologies and product roadmaps.

Performance & Reliability Optimization :

- Analyze and optimize firmware performance, latency, throughput, and resource utilization.

- Lead root cause analysis of field issues and customer escalations.

- Develop diagnostic, telemetry, and debugging capabilities.

- Develop simulation architectures to validate new performance algorithms.

Cross-Functional Leadership :

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to firmware engineers.

- Participate in architecture reviews and technical decision-making.

- Collaborate with customers and field teams to understand requirements and resolve complex issues.
