Senior Software Engineer - Ruby on Rails

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications using Ruby on Rails.

- Build responsive user interfaces and dashboards with clean, reusable, and maintainable code.

- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs following industry best practices.

- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Write efficient SQL queries and optimize database performance.

- Ensure code quality through unit testing, functional testing, and code reviews.

- Work with Docker and Kubernetes for application deployment and containerization.

- Manage source code using Git and contribute to continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimization strategies.

- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and technical discussions.

- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues while ensuring application reliability and scalability.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 7-10 years of overall software development experience.

- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails (RoR).

- At least 2+ years of front-end development experience using modern web technologies.

- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.

- Experience in developing RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.

- Strong knowledge of SQL, including joins, query optimization, and database design.

- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.

- Proficiency in writing unit and functional tests using RSpec or similar testing frameworks.

- Strong understanding of application performance tuning, benchmarking, and optimization.

- Ability to understand product requirements and independently translate them into scalable technical solutions.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
