About the Opportunity :

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer HL7 / Healthcare Integration to design, implement, and manage healthcare data integrations and interoperability solutions.

This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who understands HL7 V2.x, FHIR, and other healthcare data exchange standards, and can architect reliable, secure, and scalable integration frameworks.

Youll be part of a specialized engineering team responsible for enabling seamless data flow between healthcare systems, ensuring compliance with global healthcare standards, and supporting interoperability across EMR, EHR, and third-party platforms.

What Youll Do :

- Design, develop, and maintain HL7 interfaces and FHIR-based APIs for healthcare data integration.

- Configure, customize, and manage interface engines (e.g., Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, or Corepoint).

- Collaborate with clinical, product, and IT teams to define and implement healthcare data workflows.

- Translate business requirements into technical integration specifications, data mappings, and transformation logic.

- Develop SQL-based scripts and queries for data extraction, validation, and analysis.

- Monitor interface transactions and troubleshoot issues in data exchange, ensuring minimal downtime.

- Implement data validation, error handling, and message acknowledgment mechanisms for reliable data delivery.

- Work with internal and external stakeholders to onboard new healthcare data partners and ensure interoperability.

- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HL7, and FHIR standards, and follow security best practices for protected health information (PHI).

- Document interface architecture, message structures, and deployment workflows.

What You Bring :

- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in healthcare integration and interface development.

- Proficiency in HL7 V2.x messaging (ADT, ORU, ORM, SIU, etc.) and FHIR resources for modern healthcare APIs.

- Strong understanding of healthcare interoperability standards, message routing, and data transformation logic.

- Practical experience with interface engines such as Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, or Cloverleaf.

- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases for integration and data validation.

- Familiarity with web services (REST/SOAP), JSON/XML formats, and message encoding/decoding.

- Experience in testing and debugging HL7 messages and monitoring interface transactions.

- Working knowledge of EHR/EMR systems and their integration workflows.

- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams.

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills :

- Exposure to DICOM, CCD/C-CDA, or other healthcare data exchange standards.

- Experience with AWS/Azure cloud integrations and secure data exchange protocols.

- Knowledge of Python, Java, or JavaScript for automation or interface customization.

- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability frameworks such as IHE profiles (PIX, PDQ, XDS).

- Understanding of FHIR server implementations, terminologies (SNOMED, LOINC, ICD), and data governance
