Role Overview :
As a Senior Oracle DBA, you will be instrumental in ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of our clients' mission-critical Oracle database environments. This role involves hands-on management of complex Oracle systems, from design and implementation to ongoing optimization and troubleshooting.
You will collaborate closely with development teams, infrastructure engineers, and client stakeholders to understand requirements, provide expert guidance, and implement best practices. Your contributions will directly impact the stability and efficiency of core business applications, enabling seamless operations and data-driven decision-making for our clients.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable Oracle database architectures for various client projects, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Proactively monitor database systems for performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and capacity issues, providing timely resolution to prevent service disruptions.
- Develop and execute comprehensive backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for Oracle databases, safeguarding critical client data against loss.
- Perform advanced performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries, database instances, and operating system parameters to enhance application responsiveness.
- Manage database security, including user access, roles, and privileges, ensuring compliance with client policies and industry best practices.
- Automate routine database administration tasks using scripting languages and Oracle tools, improving operational efficiency and reducing manual effort.
- Provide expert technical guidance and support to development teams on database design, query optimization, and data modeling, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Plan and execute database patching, upgrades, and migrations, minimizing downtime and ensuring compatibility with existing applications.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated mastery in Oracle Database administration, including versions 12c, 18c, and 19c, with a strong understanding of architecture, installation, and configuration.
- Proficient in managing Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard, and ASM for high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Advanced capability in SQL and PL/SQL for complex query writing, stored procedures, and performance analysis.
- Expertise in database performance tuning, utilizing tools like AWR, ADDM, and ASH reports to diagnose and resolve performance issues.
- Strong understanding of database security principles, auditing, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to develop and maintain shell scripts (Bash, Python) for automation of DBA tasks and system monitoring.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a methodical approach to troubleshooting complex database incidents.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of articulating technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
