Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Senior Machine Learning Engineering Manager - AI & ML to lead and grow high-performing engineering teams building large-scale backend software, platforms, and machine learning solutions. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, engineering leadership, and hands-on experience in AI, Machine Learning, or Data.

The role requires a strong track record of managing engineering teams, contributing to technical strategy, and partnering with Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to define and execute the direction of scalable platforms.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of software and machine learning engineers, fostering a high-performance engineering culture.

- Drive the development and delivery of large-scale backend software, platforms, and AI/ML solutions.

- Provide technical leadership and contribute to the overall technical strategy and architecture of the team.

- Partner closely with Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to define product and platform direction.

- Translate business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions and engineering roadmaps.

- Guide engineering teams through system design, development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.

- Drive engineering best practices around code quality, scalability, reliability, performance, and security.

- Identify technical challenges, dependencies, and risks and ensure timely resolution.

- Build and maintain a strong engineering organization through hiring, mentoring, performance management, and career development.

- Collaborate with Data Science, Product, Design, DevOps, and other technical teams to deliver AI/ML-driven products and platforms.

- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve engineering capabilities and platform performance.

- Establish engineering metrics and processes to improve productivity, quality, and delivery predictability.

- Communicate technical strategy, project progress, risks, and key decisions to senior leadership.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 10+ years of experience in software engineering management or a comparable engineering leadership role.

- Strong technical experience building and scaling large-scale backend software, distributed systems, or technology platforms.

- Proven experience managing and growing large development or engineering teams.

- Strong experience managing, mentoring, and developing software engineers and technical leaders.

- Experience working with AI, Machine Learning, Data, or related technologies.

- Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, scalability, reliability, and engineering best practices.

- Experience contributing to and influencing technical strategy and engineering roadmaps.

- Strong experience partnering with Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders.

- Excellent understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile engineering practices.

- Strong communication, stakeholder-management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
