Senior Looker Engineer

Job Description :

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Looker dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions.

- Develop and maintain LookML models, explores, views, dimensions, measures, and derived tables.

- Build robust and reusable semantic data models to support enterprise reporting and analytics.

- Write complex and optimized SQL queries for data analysis and reporting.

- Collaborate with data engineers and architects to understand data sources, pipelines, and data warehouse structures.

- Translate business requirements into effective Looker analytics solutions.

- Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations based on business and stakeholder requirements.

- Optimize Looker models, queries, dashboards, and explores for performance and scalability.

- Implement data access controls, user permissions, and security within Looker.

- Perform data validation and ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of reporting solutions.

- Troubleshoot dashboard, LookML, SQL, and data-related issues.

- Establish and maintain BI development standards, reusable components, and best practices.

- Support deployment and version control of Looker code using Git and CI/CD processes.

- Mentor junior Looker developers and provide technical guidance to BI and analytics teams.

- Prepare technical documentation for LookML models, dashboards, data sources, and reporting solutions.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Strong experience as a Looker Engineer / Looker Developer / BI Engineer.

- Hands-on expertise in Looker and LookML.

- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with complex queries.

- Strong understanding of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and data warehousing concepts.

- Experience developing Looker dashboards, Explores, Looks, reports, and visualizations.

- Experience with derived tables, persistent derived tables (PDTs), and LookML parameters.

- Strong understanding of BI and analytics development lifecycle.

- Experience working with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or Databricks.

- Experience with Git/version control and software development best practices.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
