Job Summary:

The Consultant will be responsible for working with business stakeholders to identify and define self-service analytics solutions, dashboards, semantic models, and actionable BI reports using the Looker platform. A key aspect of this role is enterprise BI design and collaboration with client teams to ensure solutions are scalable, reusable, governed, and maintainable across large organizations.

The Senior Looker Developer must possess a strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, semantic layer design, and modern cloud data platforms. The role works closely with product managers, business analysts, data engineers, and end users to transform data into meaningful insights that drive business decisions.

Leadership is expected not only in the conventional sense but also through innovation, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, knowledge sharing, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently while supporting team success.

Basic understanding of:

- Batch and Real time data processing

- Agile Process (Scrum cadences, Roles, deliverables) and working experience in either Azure DevOps, JIRA or Similar

Technical Requirements:

- Design, develop, test, and deploy Looker dashboards, reports, and Explores.

- Develop reusable LookML objects and governed semantic layers.

- Optimize LookML models and queries for performance and scalability.

- Build custom calculations, derived tables, persistent derived tables (PDTs), and parameterized reporting solutions.

- Troubleshoot and resolve dashboard, model, and performance issues.

- Implement dashboard filters, drilldowns, and advanced visualizations.

- Understand business requirements and translate them into scalable Looker semantic models and analytical solutions.

- Design, develop, and maintain LookML models, Explores, Views, and dashboards.

- Create interactive dashboards, scorecards, and self-service analytics solutions using Looker.

- Define and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), metrics, and business calculations.

- Convert business requirements into technical specifications and semantic layer designs.

- Establish relationships between datasets and develop dimensional and analytical data models.

- Create documentation describing business logic, metrics definitions, models, and data lineage.

- Ensure alignment of Looker semantic models with enterprise data architecture standards.

- Support data validation, testing, reconciliation, and quality initiatives.

- Collaborate with business users, analysts, architects, data engineers, and product teams.

- Participate in requirement gathering, solution design, sprint planning, testing, and release activities.

- Provide recommendations for BI strategy, reporting standards, and best practices.

- Support end-user training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

- Design user-friendly dashboards and executive-level reporting solutions.

- Develop reports that provide actionable insights and support decision-making.

- Create visualizations that communicate trends, patterns, and business outcomes effectively.

- Partner with stakeholders to continuously improve reporting solutions and user adoption.
