Job Overview :

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Linux Security Engineer to join our cybersecurity and platform engineering team focused on securing next-generation Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and Battery Management System (BMS) platforms.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Linux security, secure system architecture, network security, and cybersecurity practices for critical infrastructure environments.

This role requires hands-on experience in Linux hardening, vulnerability management, secure communication protocols, and designing cybersecurity architectures for embedded, industrial, or energy-based platforms.

The candidate will work closely with software, firmware, cloud, networking, and product engineering teams to build secure, scalable, and compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and maintain secure Linux-based systems and infrastructure for Energy Storage and Battery Management platforms.

- Perform Linux hardening activities including kernel security, OS-level security configurations, secure boot implementation, and system lockdown mechanisms.

- Develop and enforce secure architecture principles across embedded devices, edge systems, gateways, and backend platforms.

- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration analysis, risk assessments, and remediation planning for Linux systems and network infrastructure.

- Implement and manage network security controls including firewalls, VPNs, secure communication protocols, segmentation, and zero-trust principles.

- Secure MQTT-based communication channels and ensure secure data exchange between IoT/edge devices and cloud platforms.

- Build and maintain security monitoring, logging, auditing, and incident detection mechanisms across systems.

- Define cybersecurity best practices, standards, and hardening guidelines for engineering teams.

- Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and software development lifecycles.

- Perform threat modeling, attack surface analysis, and defense-in-depth implementation for critical infrastructure systems.

- Support compliance initiatives related to IEC 62443 and other cybersecurity standards applicable to industrial and energy systems.

- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to investigate security incidents, root-cause analysis, and mitigation strategies.

- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a strong cybersecurity culture within the organization.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, Linux security engineering, or infrastructure security.

- Strong expertise in Linux Security, Linux Hardening, and Secure Linux Administration.

- Deep understanding of Linux Architecture, Kernel Security, and Secure System Design principles.

- Hands-on experience with OS hardening, secure boot mechanisms, SELinux/AppArmor, access controls, and system-level security.

- Strong knowledge of Network Security concepts including Firewalls, VPNs, Secure Protocols, Network Segmentation, IDS/IPS, and secure communication architecture.

- Experience securing MQTT protocol communications in IoT or industrial environments.

- Expertise in Vulnerability Assessment, Security Auditing, Patch Management, and Compliance Management.

- Experience with security monitoring and observability tools including SIEM, logging, auditing, and alerting frameworks.

- Strong understanding of cybersecurity architecture design and secure infrastructure practices.

- Experience with scripting/automation using Bash, Python, or similar languages.

- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Good to Have Skills :

- DevSecOps integration and secure CI/CD pipeline implementation.

- Experience in OT/ICS Cybersecurity and SCADA Security environments.

- Knowledge of IEC 62443 cybersecurity compliance standards.

- Understanding of Defense-in-Depth architecture and Zero Trust frameworks.

- Experience with Threat Hunting, Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), and incident response tools.

- Prior experience in Energy Storage, Battery Management Systems (BMS), Renewable Energy, Automotive, or Industrial IoT domains.

- Exposure to cloud security practices on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Educational Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field.

Preferred Certifications :

- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)

- CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)

- CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)

- OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional)

- GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional)
