Senior/Lead Python/Django Engineer

SG IT is looking for an accomplished Senior / Lead PythonDjango professional with 1012 years of hands-on experience and strong leadership capabilities. This is a key on-site role for professionals who enjoy owning complex systems, leading engineering teams, and delivering high-quality, scalable web applications.

Role Overview :

In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership of critical projects, mentor and guide development teams, enforce engineering best practices, and work closely with product, QA, and business stakeholders. The position demands deep technical expertise in Python/Django along with clear communication and team leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and mentor a team of Python/Django engineers, providing technical direction and hands-on support.

- Architect, design, and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications.

- Manage the complete development lifecyclefrom requirements and design to deployment and maintenance.

- Enforce coding standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices through regular code reviews.

- Collaborate with product managers, QA, and UI/UX teams to ensure timely and high-quality deliveries.

- Troubleshoot production issues, optimize performance, and ensure system reliability.

- Drive continuous improvements in automation, CI/CD pipelines, and modernization of legacy systems.

- Prepare technical documentation and present project updates to leadership and stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 10-12 years of professional experience in software development using Python and Django.

- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and experience building high-availability, scalable architectures.

- Proven leadership experience with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Mandatory ability to work full-time from the Hyderabad office.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with microservices, FastAPI, Celery, or event-driven architectures.

- Exposure to Agile / Scrum methodologies.

- Prior experience as a Technical Lead or Engineering Manager.
