Role : Senior FPGA Design Engineer / FPGA Solutions Engineer

Location : Hyderabad, Telangana, India

About the Role :

Our client is looking for an experienced FPGA Design Engineer to join our Semiconductor Solutions team in Hyderabad.


In this role, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and validating FPGA-based reference designs using next-generation FPGA devices.


You will work closely with global engineering teams to develop innovative solutions that enable customers to accelerate their product development across networking, communications, industrial, aerospace, automotive, and embedded applications.

This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge FPGA technologies, high-speed interfaces, and advanced digital design methodologies while contributing to future FPGA architecture and customer enablement.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and develop FPGA reference designs and proof-of-concept solutions using advanced FPGA devices.

- Develop high-quality RTL using Verilog/ System Verilog and integrate industry-standard IP cores.

- Implement complete FPGA design flows including synthesis, place & route, timing analysis, and timing closure.

- Bring up and validate FPGA designs on hardware platforms.

- Develop and validate high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, SERDES, JESD204B/C, and other industry-standard protocols.

- Debug FPGA designs at both RTL and hardware levels using simulation tools, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, and other lab equipment.

- Collaborate with architecture, silicon validation, applications, and software teams to define next-generation FPGA use cases and design methodologies.

- Create technical documentation, application notes, reference guides, and design collateral for internal and external customers.

- Support customer enablement activities by providing technical guidance and training to Field Application Engineers (FAEs).

- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvements in engineering processes and design quality.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

- 7+ years of experience in FPGA Design and Digital Hardware Development.

Technical Skills :

- Strong expertise in Verilog/System Verilog RTL design.

- Extensive experience with FPGA development using industry-standard design tools.

- Solid understanding of FPGA architecture, digital logic design, synthesis, implementation, and timing closure.

- Experience with one or more high-speed protocols such as :

1. PCI Express (PCIe)

2. DDR3/DDR4/LPDDR

3. Gigabit/10G Ethernet

4. JESD204B/C

5. High-speed SERDES/Transceivers

- Experience with FPGA simulation and verification methodologies.

- Hands-on hardware bring-up and debugging experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, signal generators, and related lab equipment.

- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with SoC FPGA platforms.

- Knowledge of FPGA IP integration and embedded processor subsystems.

- Familiarity with Tcl scripting, Python, or automation for FPGA workflows.

- Exposure to FPGA architecture evaluation or silicon validation is an advantage.

- Experience collaborating with globally distributed engineering teams.
