Firmware Engineer

We are building a next-generation health technology company combining AI, wearable devices, mobile applications, and healthcare science to create one of India's leading connected health ecosystems. We are looking for a Senior Firmware Engineer to develop the embedded software powering our wearable devices.

Role Overview :

You will develop the firmware that runs on our wearable devices, enabling reliable sensor data collection, Bluetooth connectivity, power management, and seamless communication with our mobile applications. As one of the earliest technical hires, you will influence firmware architecture, embedded software standards, and future device platforms.

Key Responsibilities :

Firmware Development :

- Embedded software

- Real-time firmware

- Device logic

- Sensor integration

- Communication protocols

Bluetooth Connectivity :

- Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)

- Device pairing

- Secure communication

- Background synchronization

- Device reconnection

- Data transfer optimization

Sensor Integration :

- Heart rate, SpO2, Temperature, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, ECG (future), Sleep monitoring, and future health sensors.

Power Management :

- Battery life, sleep modes, wake-up logic, charging behavior, and low-power operation.

OTA Firmware Updates :

- Over-the-Air updates, rollback mechanisms, version management, and firmware validation.

Hardware Integration :

- PCB validation, microcontroller integration, sensor calibration, hardware debugging, and manufacturing testing.

Testing :

- Unit tests, hardware validation tests, stress testing, and reliability testing.

Documentation :

- Firmware documentation, communication protocols, debug procedures, and version history.

Key Deliverables :

- Production firmware, BLE implementation, sensor drivers, power optimization, OTA update framework, debug tools, and technical documentation.

KPIs :

- Reliability, Performance, Quality, and Delivery metrics.

Experience Required :

- 3 - 6 years of embedded firmware development.

- Experience with consumer electronics or wearables.

- Strong understanding of real-time embedded systems.

- Experience developing BLE-enabled devices.

- Startup or product company experience preferred.

Skills Required :

Must Have :

- Embedded C/C++

- RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or equivalent)

- Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)

- ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers

- UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO

- Git

- Debugging with JTAG/SWD

- Low-power optimization

Highly Preferred :

- Nordic Semiconductor (nRF52/nRF53), Silicon Labs, ESP32, STM32, OTA firmware updates, sensor fusion, wearable device experience, and medical device standards awareness.
