Job Overview:

We are a global leader in LiFi and Optical Wireless Communication (OWC), developing commercial-grade, cutting-edge products across telecom, defense, smart cities, surveillance, aviation, and enterprise sectors. We are looking for a Senior Firmware & Linux Device Driver Engineer to join our core engineering team in New Delhi on a full-time, Work from Office basis.

In this role, you will develop Linux device drivers and kernel-level software for novel optical and high-speed communication hardware, alongside low-level firmware. Compensation is open and highly competitive for candidates with the right technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

- Driver Development: Design and develop Linux device drivers, kernel modules, and BSP components for custom hardware platforms.

- Firmware Authoring: Write and maintain firmware in C/C++ for ARM-based platforms in bare metal and RTOS environments.

- Board Bring-up: Perform board bring-up, device tree configuration, and bootloader customization (U-Boot or similar).

- Hardware Debugging: Debug hardware-software interactions using kernel debugging tools and hardware analysis equipment.

- Documentation: Translate engineering requirements into robust software designs and clear technical documentation.

- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with hardware engineers across the full product development lifecycle.

- Code Quality: Participate in code reviews and contribute to team engineering standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelors degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Masters preferred).

- Experience: 58 years of hands-on experience in Linux kernel, device driver, and firmware development.

- Core Languages: Strong proficiency in C (mandatory) and C++.

- Linux Kernel: Proven experience writing Linux device drivers (platform drivers, kernel modules, IRQ handling, DMA) and a solid understanding of memory management, synchronization, and BSP development.

- Bootloaders & Config: Experience with device tree authoring, bootloader porting (U-Boot), and board bring-up.

- Peripherals: Familiarity with interfaces like UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, PWM, CAN, and Ethernet.

- Hardware Debugging Tools: Proficiency with JTAG/SWD, GDB, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.

- Build Systems: Strong working knowledge of Git and build tools like CMake, Makefile, and Kbuild.
