Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeler to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data models for healthcare payer data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong data modeling expertise, healthcare payer domain knowledge, and hands-on experience with Snowflake-based data warehouses.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for healthcare payer domains.

- Translate business and data requirements into scalable, governed data structures.

- Develop dimensional, relational, and normalized models for analytics and reporting.

- Define entities, attributes, relationships, keys, grain, hierarchies, and data lineage.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, and analytics teams.

- Review source systems and data dictionaries to identify mapping gaps and inconsistencies.

- Establish source-to-target mappings for Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers.

- Support data warehouse design and implementation on Snowflake.

- Ensure models follow standards for data quality, security, governance, and performance.

- Document assumptions, business rules, transformation logic, and data relationships.

- Review existing models and recommend improvements for completeness and scalability.

- Produce high-quality deliverables with minimal supervision and within tight timelines.

Required Qualifications :

- 7+ years of professional experience in data modeling, data architecture, or data warehouse design.

- Strong experience creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

- Hands-on experience with dimensional modeling, star schemas, normalized models, and slowly changing dimensions.

- Strong understanding of primary keys, foreign keys, natural keys, surrogate keys, grain, cardinality, and referential integrity.

- Ability to analyze source data, data dictionaries, and existing schemas quickly.

- Experience creating source-to-target mappings and defining transformation rules.

- Strong SQL skills.

- Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data warehouse development.

- Ability to work independently and deliver immediate results with limited onboarding or training.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Healthcare payer experience, including one or more of : Claims; Members and eligibility; Providers; Plans and benefits; Groups and contracts; Billing and premium; Payments and commissions; Care management; Compliance and regulatory data.

- Experience with Snowflake, including Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers; Streams, tasks, Snowpipes, and dynamic tables; Snowflake SQL and performance optimization; data governance and security.

- Experience with dbt and dbt-Snowflake projects.

- Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HIPAA, X12, 837, 835, and enrollment data.

- Experience documenting data lineage, data quality rules, and business definitions.

- Exposure to enterprise data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, Sparx Enterprise Architect, or equivalent.
