Sr. Data Engineer Microsoft Fabric / Azure Analytics

Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering and analytics platforms, with strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric / Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Power BI/DAX.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable developing scalable data pipelines, working with notebooks for data transformation, building analytical datasets, and collaborating with BI and business teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using Azure Data Factory (ADF).

- Develop and optimize notebook-based data engineering solutions using Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Synapse.

- Perform data ingestion, transformation, cleansing, validation, and integration across multiple data sources.

- Work with structured and semi-structured data to build reliable analytical data models.

- Develop and optimize Power BI datasets and DAX formulas to support business reporting and analytics.

- Collaborate with BI developers, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver data solutions.

- Troubleshoot data pipeline failures, data quality issues, and performance bottlenecks.

- Optimize SQL queries, notebooks, pipelines, and data models for performance and scalability.

- Implement appropriate data quality, monitoring, error handling, and operational processes.

- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Contribute to migration and modernization initiatives involving Azure Synapse and Microsoft Fabric.

Skills :

- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a related role.

- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Synapse Analytics.

- Strong experience developing Fabric/Synapse notebooks using technologies such as PySpark, Python, or SQL.

- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and pipeline development.

- Good understanding of Power BI and DAX, including creating and optimizing DAX measures and calculated columns.

- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases/data warehouses.

- Good understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and data integration.

- Experience troubleshooting and optimizing data pipelines and data processing workloads.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
