Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer - Metadata & Data Governance with 7+ years of experience in data engineering, metadata management, and data governance. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in SQL and Snowflake along with experience working with enterprise data governance and metadata management platforms such as Atlan, Microsoft Purview, Monte Carlo, Collibra, or Alation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data engineering and metadata solutions.

- Work extensively with Snowflake and SQL for data analysis, profiling, validation, and metadata management.

- Develop and maintain data catalogs, metadata repositories, business glossaries, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.

- Implement and manage data governance processes across enterprise data platforms.

- Configure and integrate metadata/catalog tools such as Atlan, Purview, Monte Carlo, Collibra, or Alation.

- Establish data ownership, classification, stewardship, and governance standards.

- Support automated data discovery, lineage, profiling, and data quality monitoring.

- Collaborate with Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Security, Compliance, and Business teams to implement governance standards.

- Identify and resolve data quality, metadata, and lineage-related issues.

- Develop SQL queries and processes for data validation, reconciliation, and analysis.

- Contribute to the development of enterprise data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices.

- Drive automation and continuous improvement of metadata and governance processes.

Must-Have Skills:

- 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Management.

- Strong hands-on experience with SQL and Snowflake.

- Strong understanding of Data Governance and Metadata Management.

- Experience with at least one enterprise data governance/catalog platform:

1. Atlan

2. Microsoft Purview

3. Monte Carlo

4. Collibra

5. Alation

- Good understanding of Data Catalog, Data Lineage, Data Quality, Data Classification, and Business Glossary concepts.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
