Job Description :

The Senior/Lead Power BI Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering scalable Power BI solutions.

In the Offshore Lead capacity, the role will also drive team coordination, delivery planning, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful execution of BI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and develop interactive Power BI reports and dashboards using Power BI Desktop, aligned with business requirements.

- Build and maintain robust data models following star schema principles to support scalable and high-performing analytics.

- Develop advanced calculations using DAX and perform data transformation using Power Query (M).

- Implement row-level security (RLS) and ensure data governance and access control requirements are met.

- Develop and manage paginated reports for pixel-perfect reporting needs.

- Manage Power BI Service, including workspace administration, dataset management, report publishing, and gateway configuration.

- Optimize report performance through efficient data modeling, query optimization, and best practices.

Additional Responsibilities (Lead Role) :

- Mentor and guide the offshore development team, ensuring adherence to best practices and consistent delivery quality.

- Hands-on experience developing paginated reports.

- Experience in performance tuning and optimizing large datasets and complex reports.

Primary Skills :

- Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

- DAX (advanced calculations and measures).

- Power Query (M) for data transformation.

- Data modelling (star schema, relationships, optimization).

- Row-level security (RLS).

- Paginated reports (Power BI Report Builder).

- Gateway and workspace management.

Secondary Skills :

- SQL (complex queries, performance tuning).

- Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).

- Exposure to Tableau (for migration or interoperability scenarios).

Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 7+ years of experience in Power BI and Business Intelligence development.

- Prior experience in leading offshore teams or acting as a technical lead preferred.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Microsoft Power BI certification preferred.
