Senior Backend Engineer - Node.js/TypeScript

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Platform Pod, a horizontal team that supports the cross-functional needs of the organization. This role focuses on strengthening and extending backend systems that enable internal admin tooling, customer workflows, and cross-pod initiatives.

Responsibilities :

- Backend Engineering : Expand, secure, and optimize backend services that power internal admin tooling and customer-facing workflows.

- Scalability & Reliability : Ensure platform services are resilient, fault-tolerant, and performant.

- Security & Compliance : Harden access controls, approvals, and backend processes to meet financial-grade standards.

- Cross-Functional Support : Partner with product managers, frontend engineers, and other pods to deliver solutions across the org.

- Org-Wide Impact : Contribute engineering capacity to horizontal projects that don't fit neatly into a single pod, relieving strain on core trading and growth teams.

- Technical Excellence : Uphold high standards for code quality, reviews, and engineering culture.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

- 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.

- Strong expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

- Proficiency in Node.js with TypeScript.

- Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, Redpanda, RabbitMQ, or similar).

- Experience designing and maintaining REST/gRPC APIs in production.

- Ability to design for performance, scalability, and reliability in production systems.

- Strong ownership mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

Good-to-haves :

- Full stack capability (React, TypeScript, or similar).

- Background in compliance-driven workflows, admin tooling, or customer account management.

- Contributions to cross-team or platform-wide engineering projects.

- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and Kubernetes-based deployments.
