Role : Senior Backend & Data Engineer

Join our dynamic team in Kolkata as a Senior Backend & Data Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure and backend systems. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, product managers, and other engineers to build scalable and reliable solutions that power our data-driven products. Your work will directly impact our ability to deliver valuable insights and improve the user experience for our customers.

You will use Claude Code, Cursor, and Python-based Agents to automate the creation of ETL pipelines and API scaffolding. Your value is measured by your ability to design a self-healing data ecosystem where 90% of the manual "data cleaning" is handled by the AI agents you build.

Core Responsibilities:

- Agentic Data Ingestion: Design and deploy autonomous Python agents to authenticate via OAuth2.0 and extract financial data from Gmail/Outlook (CSV, XLSX, PDF).

- Medallion Pipeline Engineering: Implement a "Medallion Architecture" (Bronze/Silver/Gold) using Python and SQL to transform raw aggregator data into high-fidelity summary tables.

- Write-Time Aggregation: Develop the logic to pre-calculate core metrics (Net Payout, Effective Commission, Sales Lift) during the ingestion phase to ensure sub-second API responses.

- Unified API Development: Build and maintain high-performance FastAPI endpoints that serve aggregated data to our Flutter-based frontend applications.

- Schema Governance: Own the PostgreSQL/RDS schema, ensuring strict data contracts between the ingestion agents and the consumer-facing dashboards.

[MH] Must-Have Skills & Experience:

- Python Mastery: 5+ years of expert-level Python experience, specifically with Pandas, SQLAlchemy, and FastAPI.

- Data Architecture: Proven experience building data pipelines and managing relational databases (PostgreSQL/RDS).

- AI Orchestration: Proficiency in using LLMs (Claude/Gemini) to generate complex data transformation logic and API code.

- Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, S3, and RDS.

[SH] Should-Have Skills & Experience:

- Medallion Logic: Familiarity with data warehousing concepts (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers) and pre-aggregation strategies.

- Security & OAuth: Experience implementing secure OAuth2.0 flows for third-party service integrations (Google/Microsoft).

- Agentic Frameworks: Exposure to LangGraph, CrewAI, or similar frameworks for managing autonomous task execution.

[GTH] Good-To-Have Skills & Experience:

- FinTech Experience: Prior work with reconciliation systems, billing engines, or payout analytics.

- DevOps Awareness: Basic understanding of Docker and GitHub Actions for deploying unified Python stacks.
