Senior AI Engineer - RAG/Generative AI

Role Overview :

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior AI Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable AI-driven solutions. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Python, SQL, AI system design, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.

The role requires hands-on experience in building enterprise-grade AI applications and delivering end-to-end AI solutions aligned with business objectives. Candidates with domain expertise in Pharma, Retail, or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industries will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and develop scalable AI/ML solutions for enterprise applications.

- Lead end-to-end AI solution development from requirement gathering to deployment and optimization.

- Architect and implement LLM-based applications using advanced prompt engineering and RAG frameworks.

- Build intelligent AI systems leveraging vector databases, semantic search, and knowledge retrieval pipelines.

- Develop robust backend services and APIs using Python and related frameworks.

- Work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and data engineers to translate business requirements into AI solutions.

- Optimize model performance, scalability, and inference efficiency for production environments.

- Implement cloud-native AI solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP platforms.

- Develop and maintain structured and unstructured data pipelines using SQL and modern data engineering practices.

- Ensure best practices in AI governance, model monitoring, security, and responsible AI implementation.

- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across AI initiatives.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for deployment, testing, and continuous improvement of AI systems.

- Stay updated with emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.

Required Skills & Competencies :

- Strong programming expertise in Python and SQL.

- Hands-on experience with LLMs, Generative AI, and RAG architectures.

- Strong understanding of AI system design and scalable application architecture.

- Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI APIs, Hugging Face, or similar frameworks.

- Expertise in vector databases such as Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate, or ChromaDB.

- Experience working with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or GCP.

- Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, and backend development.

- Knowledge of ML lifecycle management and MLOps practices.

- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Experience in handling structured and unstructured enterprise data.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

- Experience in Pharma, Retail, or CPG domain is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related field.

- Experience in enterprise AI transformation projects.

- Exposure to advanced AI agents, autonomous workflows, and multimodal AI systems.

- Certifications in Cloud or AI technologies will be an added advantage.
