Job Overview :

We are looking for a Scala Developer with strong hands-on experience to join a long-term, high-priority project on a contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in Scala development, experience working with AWS, and exposure to modern backend architectures.

This role involves developing scalable backend services, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the design and delivery of high-quality, cloud-based applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Scala.

- Build and enhance cloud-based applications leveraging AWS services.

- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.

- Contribute to the design and implementation of microservices architecture.

- Collaborate with product managers, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.

- Perform unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning.

- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.

- Troubleshoot production issues and support deployments as required.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications :

- 4+ years of professional experience in Scala development (mandatory).

- Strong hands-on experience with Scala (minimum 4 years).

- Hands-on experience with AWS (minimum 3 years).

- Strong understanding of backend development concepts and REST APIs.

- Experience working with distributed systems and cloud environments.

Good to Have / Preferred Skills :

- Experience with Akka for concurrency and distributed systems.

- Experience with Play Framework for web application development.

- Experience building microservices-based architectures.

- Exposure to containerization tools such as Docker.

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
