Key Responsibilities:
- Firmware Architecture & Development: Lead the design, coding, and debugging of robust, production-grade firmware primarily in C, with targeted modular components in C++.
- Low-Level Driver Integration: Architect and develop clean, reusable device drivers for bare-metal peripherals (including DMA, Timers, ADC/DAC, and Flash memory) and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, USB).
- RTOS Management: Architect and optimize multi-threaded applications within resource-constrained RTOS environments, ensuring strict adherence to timing, scheduling, and power-management requirements.
- Cross-Platform Systems Integration: Drive firmware integration across diverse MCU vendors (e.g., STMicroelectronics, NXP, TI) and interface with complex Application Processors running Android/Linux environments.
- Platform Optimization: Collaborate on hardware-software co-design to profile, benchmark, and optimize system performance, power consumption, and thermal footprints on Qualcomm and MediaTek platforms.
- Technical Leadership: Champion code quality through strict code reviews, maintain comprehensive architectural documentation, and mentor junior embedded engineers in best practices for hardware abstraction and safety-critical code.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Industry Experience: 8+ years of professional experience in embedded software development and microcontroller firmware design.
- Programming Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in C and strong working knowledge of C++ tailored for resource-constrained systems (avoiding heavy runtime overhead).
- Hardware Architecture: Deep understanding of ARM Cortex-M/R/A series or similar MCU/MPU architectures, memory maps, registers, and hardware debugging tools (JTAG, SWD, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers).
- RTOS Expertise: Proven experience shipping products built on FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX, or equivalent real-time operating systems.
- Advanced SoC Exposure: Experience working with high-performance application processor ecosystems, specifically Qualcomm (Snapdragon/QCS) or MediaTek platforms, including an understanding of Android HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) or kernel-level interfacing.
Desired / Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with low-power wireless protocols (BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee).
- Familiarity with bootloader development, secure boot, and over-the-air (OTA) firmware update mechanisms.
- Understanding of automated hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and continuous integration (CI/CD) for embedded systems.
