About the Role :

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Engineering Lead to drive the design, delivery, and governance of enterprise-scale data platforms and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading global and offshore data engineering teams, managing stakeholder expectations, and delivering data initiatives using Agile methodologies. This role requires strong expertise in modern data technologies including Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, and Microsoft Purview, along with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Requirements :

- 12-16 years of overall IT experience with a strong focus on data engineering and data platform delivery.

- Proven experience leading global and offshore data engineering teams.

- Hands-on expertise with Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, and Microsoft Purview.

- 5+ years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including sprint planning, delivery management, and team leadership.

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across business and technology teams.

- Experience in enterprise data architecture, data governance, and cloud-based data platforms.

- Strong understanding of data quality, security, metadata management, and analytics ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-scale data engineering solutions using Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, and related technologies.

- Manage and mentor global and offshore data engineering teams, ensuring high-quality delivery and adherence to best practices.

- Drive Agile/Scrum execution, including sprint planning, backlog management, release coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and leadership teams to define data strategies and translate business requirements into scalable solutions.

- Oversee data governance, metadata management, and compliance initiatives leveraging Microsoft Purview and enterprise data management frameworks.

- Establish data engineering standards, architecture guidelines, and operational processes to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.

- Monitor project delivery, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure successful execution of data platform modernization and transformation programs.

Preferred Skills :

- Expertise in cloud-based data platforms and modern data architectures.

- Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT, data lakes, and analytics ecosystems.

- Experience with stakeholder engagement at executive and leadership levels.

- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and delivery management capabilities.
