Fullstack Software Engineer (Java + JavaScript Framework) (3- 5 Years Experience)

Role Overview :

We are looking for a hands-on Fullstack Software Engineer (3- 5 years experience) who can develop, maintain, and enhance both backend services and frontend applications in a cloud native, microservices-based environment using Java (Spring Boot) and a modern JavaScript framework (Vue.js, React.js, or Angular).

The role requires strong programming fundamentals, experience with modern frameworks, and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks within an agile product engineering setup.

Core Technical Skills (Must-Have) :

Backend Development (Java) :

- 3- 5 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development

- Proficient in :

- Java 8+ (Java 17 or Java 21 preferred)

- Spring Boot framework

- REST API development

- Spring Data JPA / Hibernate

Frontend Development (JavaScript) :

- Strong experience in JavaScript (ES6+)

- Proficient in :

1. Vue.js or React.js or Angular

2. HTML5, CSS3, responsive design principles

Component-Based Architecture :

- Building reusable, modular components

- Props, events, lifecycle hooks

- Routing and navigation

- State management (Pinia, Redux, NgRx, or equivalent)

API Integration :

- Building and consuming RESTful microservices

- Handling asynchronous calls with Axios or Fetch

- Error handling and loading states

Build Tools & Packaging :

- Experience with :

1. Vite or Webpack

2. NPM/Yarn

3. Gradle

- Basic understanding of bundling, code splitting, and performance optimization

Cloud & DevOps Awareness :

- Basic deployment and debugging on any cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP)

- CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins

- Basic Docker usage (build, run, logs)

Databases & Storage :

- Strong experience with relational databases: PostgreSQL or MySQL

- Good understanding of :

1. Writing SQL queries

2. Index usage

3. Joins, transactions

- Exposure to Redis or NoSQL DBs is a plus

Engineering Best Practices (Mandatory) :

- Write clean, maintainable, well-structured code

- Use OOP and SOLID principles

- Mandatory experience with :

1. JUnit / Mockito for backend unit testing

2. Jest (or equivalent) for frontend unit testing

3. Code reviews (as reviewer and reviewee)

4. Git workflows

- Understanding of :

1. Logging and monitoring basics

2. Error handling & exception design

3. API security basics (JWT/OAuth2 awareness)

4. Frontend security (XSS prevention, CSRF awareness)

UI/UX Awareness :

- Ability to implement pixel-perfect designs from Figma or similar tools

- Understanding of responsive layouts and cross-browser compatibility

- Basic knowledge of usability principles

Performance, Reliability & Security Expectations :

Performance :

- Backend : DB queries, caching, pagination

- Frontend : DOM rendering, state updates, lazy loading

- Familiarity with browser performance tools

Security :

Secure coding practices :

- Input sanitization

- Avoiding SQL injection

- Secure API communication

- Preventing XSS and CSRF vulnerabilities

Domain Knowledge (Not Required, but Good to Have) :

- Supply Chain Management

- Logistics

- Inventory or warehouse systems

If the domain is unfamiliar, the engineer must be able to learn quickly with guidance.

Soft Skills & Collaboration Expectations :

- Clear communication and ability to explain technical decisions

- Ability to estimate tasks and deliver within timelines

- Proactiveness in asking questions when needed

- Ability to work in Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban)

- Regular participation in :

1. Grooming

2. Stand-ups

3. Sprint reviews

4. Retrospectives

Expected Deliverables :

The deployed engineer must be able to deliver the following without hand-holding :

- Backend APIs built using Java & Spring Boot

- Frontend components and pages built using Vue.js, React.js, or Angular

- Code adhering to project standards & guidelines

- Unit tests for all major components (frontend & backend)

- Bug fixes, enhancements, and production support as needed

- Accurate status updates and timely delivery in sprints

- Clear documentation for services, APIs, and UI components
