Senior Embedded Engineer (Python & C++) Device Firmware Development

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer (Python & C++) to manage and improve the software development lifecycle for device firmware systems.

The primary focus of this role is to ensure firmware operational reliability, fail-safe implementation, certification compliance, and robust production deployment.

This role is ideal for an engineer experienced in system-level software, firmware validation, testing automation, and production readiness but not focused on low-level hardware design.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Firmware Operational Stability :

- Ensure firmware operates reliably in production environments.

- Implement and validate fail-safe mechanisms and fallback logic.

- Monitor watchdog systems, timeout handling, and safe state transitions.

- Work closely with embedded engineers to validate firmware behavior.

2. Python & C++ Development :

- Develop and maintain :

1. Firmware communication layers

2. Device control applications

3. Diagnostic tools

4. Test automation frameworks

- Optimize performance and memory handling in C++ applications.

- Develop production-ready Python tools for deployment, logging, and validation.

3. Fail-Safe & Safety Implementation :

- Implement :

1. Safe boot validation

2. Error recovery mechanisms

3. Redundancy logic

4. Communication retry systems

5. Safe shutdown protocols

- Design state machines for controlled device operation.

- Ensure system transitions to safe state during :

1. Power failure

2. Communication loss

3. Hardware malfunction

4. Server timeout

4. Production Deployment & Validation :

- Create secure and repeatable firmware deployment pipelines.

- Implement :

1. Boot image validation

2. Signature verification

3. Version rollback mechanisms

- Develop health monitoring and diagnostic utilities.

- Support field debugging and OTA update validation.

5. Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) :

- Follow structured SDLC :

1. Requirement analysis

2. Design documentation

3. Code reviews

4. Unit testing

5. Integration testing

6. Production release management

- Maintain CI/CD pipelines.

- Ensure code quality and compliance with internal standards.
