Role overview :
We are looking for a dynamic and technically proficient privacy specialist for our Privacy Governance team.
The candidates primary role will involve driving our privacy program and overseeing personal data protection compliance.
Additionally, the candidate will be involved in implementing privacy-by-design principles within our products and systems.
This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a strong blend of legal-regulatory understanding, practical engineering experience, and a passion for building robust and ethical data practices.
Key Responsibilities :
Privacy Governance and Compliance :
- Manage global, regional and local data protection compliance for the organisations services, products, business units, and control functions.
- Respond to and manage activities such as drafting privacy policies, processes, best practices, incident response, vendor due diligence, training programs, data retention programs, and data subject access requests.
- Act as a primary point of contact for internal and external privacy inquiries and audits.
Privacy Strategy and Implementation :
- Lead the implementation of privacy controls and safeguards across various systems and applications.
- Identify, document, and facilitate the mitigation of privacy risks.
- Champion a culture of privacy throughout the organization.
Privacy Engineering and Personal Data Governance :
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and data science teams to embed privacy-by-design principles into the entire software development lifecycle.
- Design, develop, and implement technical solutions for privacy-conscious products.
- Conduct technical privacy reviews of architectural designs, data flows, and system implementations.
Skills & qualifications :
- Education : Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Law, or a related field.
- 5 to 8 years of professional experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates with relevant certifications (IAPP, ISACA, etc).
- Experience in working in a legal, compliance, or risk management function.
- Experience in implementing privacy programs and controls in a complex technical environment.
