About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Backend Engineer who can build scalable, secure, and enterprise-grade backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python-based API development, integrations with diverse data sources, Azure cloud deployment, and complex customer environments. This role demands strong technical depth, solutioning ability, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities :

Backend Development & API Engineering :

- Design, develop, and deploy RESTful APIs using FastAPI, Django, Flask, or similar Python frameworks.

- Integrate backend services with upstream/downstream systems such as REST services, Kafka streams, Oracle DB, Workday, and other third-party systems.

- Implement strong modular architecture, secure coding practices, and scalability patterns in Python applications.

Cloud & Deployment :

- Develop, deploy, monitor, and secure Python applications on Azure cloud services (App Services, Functions, API Management, AAD, Key Vault, etc.).

- Implement workflow automation using rules engines like Temporal, Azure Logic Apps, or Python-based rule engines.

- (Good to have) Deploy and manage Python applications in Kubernetes environments.

Data & Integration :

- Work with SQL databases to design schemas, write optimized queries, and ensure data integrity.

- Build connectors, integrations, and pipelines to handle complex enterprise data ecosystems.

Architecture & Best Practices :

- Understand business requirements, participate in solution architecture, and translate designs into robust implementations.

- Ensure adherence to engineering best practicesmodularity, exception handling, logging, testing, CI/CD, security, and performance.

Collaboration & Leadership :

- Collaborate with customers, business teams, and engineering stakeholders with clear and effective communication.

- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical design discussions and peer reviews.

- Take complete ownership of deliverables with a proactive, self-driven, and results-oriented mindset.

Mandatory Skills :

- Strong expertise in Python programming and REST API development using FastAPI/Django/Flask.

- Hands-on integration experience with REST services, Kafka, Oracle, and enterprise systems like Workday.

- Ability to build applications focusing on modularity, security, and scalability.

- Strong knowledge of SQL.

- Experience with Azure cloud for developing, deploying, and securing Python applications.

- Knowledge of workflow implementation using Temporal, Azure Logic Apps, or Python rule-based libraries.

- (Good to have) Experience deploying Python applications on Kubernetes.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong requirement understanding and ability to assist in solution architecture.

- Self-driven, proactive, and able to take end-to-end ownership.

- Prior experience working within complex enterprise client environments.
