Python Developer - API Gateway

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain APIs using Python.

- Configure, manage, and monitor Kong API Gateway for routing and security.

- Work with REST and SOAP APIs to integrate internal and external systems.

- Collaborate with the database team for data integration related to customer information.

- Ensure compliance with API security standards, scalability, and performance benchmarks.

- Document API specifications, integration flows, and best practices.

- Troubleshoot API-related issues including connectivity, performance, and availability.

- Support deployment and monitoring of APIs across environments

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 6+ years of professional experience in software development.

- Strong proficiency in Python.

- Proven hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway (design, routing, policies, plugins).

- Experience with REST and SOAP API development and integration.

- Strong understanding of API security, versioning, and best practices.

- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

- Understanding of authentication & authorization (OAuth2, JWT, SAML).
