About the Role :
We are looking for an experienced Product Lead with deep expertise in the UPI and digital payments ecosystem to drive product strategy, technical product development, partnerships, and large-scale payment solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong understanding of UPI across issuer, acquirer, PSP, TPAP, merchant, and enterprise ecosystems, combined with experience managing high-volume payment products and cross-functional delivery.
Responsibilities :
- Define and drive the UPI product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle across Issuer, Acquirer, PSP, TPAP, Merchant, and enterprise ecosystems.
- Own technical product capabilities including APIs, microservices, transaction flows, payment processing, scalability, reliability, and high-volume transaction architecture.
- Translate business, customer, regulatory, and market requirements into product strategy, features, and technical requirements.
- Lead end-to-end product delivery from ideation and requirements through development, integration, testing, certification, launch, and continuous optimization.
- Drive integrations and partnerships with banks, PSPs, TPAPs, merchants, payment networks, and technology partners.
- Define and manage product SLAs, operational metrics, transaction performance, availability, and customer experience.
- Work closely with engineering, architecture, operations, risk, security, compliance, and business teams to ensure successful product delivery.
- Ensure products comply with RBI regulations, NPCI/UPI guidelines, security standards, certification requirements, and applicable payment controls.
- Drive product capabilities for fraud prevention, transaction monitoring, risk management, authentication, and payment security.
- Leverage product analytics and transaction data to identify opportunities for conversion, reliability, performance, and customer experience optimization.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for AI/GenAI, RAG, and Agentic AI across payments, fraud, customer experience, operations, and BFSI use cases.
- Define product KPIs and use data-driven insights to measure adoption, transaction success rates, revenue, customer experience, and overall product performance.
- Lead senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align product priorities, delivery plans, dependencies, and business outcomes.
- Monitor UPI ecosystem trends, regulatory changes, competitive developments, and emerging payment technologies to identify new product opportunities.
- Mentor product managers and contribute to building strong product management practices and governance.
Requirements :
- 10 - 20 years of experience in product management, digital payments, banking technology, fintech, or related domains, with significant experience in UPI/digital payments.
- Strong understanding of the UPI ecosystem, including Issuer, Acquirer, PSP, TPAP, Merchant, and enterprise use cases.
- Proven experience owning and delivering large-scale payment products and high-volume transaction platforms.
- Strong technical understanding of APIs, microservices, payment processing, transaction flows, integration architecture, scalability, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience managing integrations with banks, PSPs, TPAPs, merchants, or payment ecosystem partners.
- Strong knowledge of NPCI/UPI processes, certification, RBI regulations, payment security, fraud prevention, and compliance requirements.
- Experience working with engineering and architecture teams to define technical product requirements and solution approaches.
- Strong understanding of product analytics, KPIs, experimentation, customer journeys, and data-driven product optimization.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders across product, technology, business, risk, compliance, and operations.
- Strong commercial and strategic thinking with the ability to identify new payment opportunities and translate them into scalable products.
- Exposure to AI/GenAI, RAG, Agentic AI, or AI-driven payment/BFSI use cases is preferred.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and leadership skills.
