Role Overview :
As a Principal WiFi Engineer, you will serve as a technical authority for advanced wireless connectivity solutions, driving the architecture and implementation of high-performance firmware. You will work closely with cross-functional product teams, silicon vendors, and internal engineering squads to solve complex networking challenges. Your work will directly influence the stability, throughput, and feature set of broadband gateways and wireless access points, ensuring that our clients deliver superior connectivity experiences to millions of end-users globally.
Key Responsibilities :
- Architect and design high-performance WiFi firmware solutions to ensure optimal wireless throughput and coverage for enterprise-grade hardware.
- Lead the integration and customization of Broadcom and MTK/Airoha WiFi SDKs to meet specific product requirements and performance benchmarks.
- Drive the implementation of RDK-B architecture within broadband gateways to standardize software stacks and improve interoperability.
- Optimize TCP/IP stack performance and routing protocols to ensure low-latency data transmission and robust network stability.
- Establish and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to streamline firmware deployment, testing, and release cycles.
- Mentor senior engineering teams by providing technical guidance on complex debugging, system performance tuning, and architectural decision-making.
- Collaborate with silicon partners to resolve low-level driver issues and influence the roadmap for future chipset capabilities.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated expertise in C++ programming within embedded Linux environments, with a focus on memory management and multi-threaded application development.
- Deep technical proficiency in WiFi protocols (802.11 standards) and extensive experience working with Broadcom and MTK/Airoha WiFi SDKs.
- Proven ability to design and maintain complex networking software using RDK-B architecture in large-scale deployments.
- Strong command of TCP/IP networking, including advanced routing and switching concepts, to troubleshoot and enhance network performance.
- Experience in building and managing CI/CD pipelines to ensure high-quality, repeatable software delivery in an agile environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical trade-offs to stakeholders and lead technical discussions across distributed teams.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, supported by 10 to 15 years of relevant industry experience.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, high-stakes environment based in Bangalore, demonstrating adaptability to evolving project requirements and technical challenges.
