- Define and evolve end-to-end system architecture across frontend and backend.

- Drive long-term technical strategy aligned with product and business goals.

- Identify systemic risks, bottlenecks, and scaling challenges early.

Hands-On Engineering :

- Build and review critical parts of the system across frontend and backend.

- Set high standards for code quality, performance, and reliability.

- Lead by example through high-quality technical contributions.

Cross-Team Technical Leadership :

- Act as a technical advisor to multiple teams.

- Lead design reviews for complex, cross-cutting initiatives.

- Influence standards around APIs, data models, frontend architecture, and tooling.

Quality, Reliability & Scale :

- Ensure systems are resilient, observable, and production-ready.

- Drive best practices around testing, monitoring, and incident prevention.

- Champion simplicity and long-term maintainability.

Mentorship & Engineering Excellence :

- Mentor senior and staff-level engineers.

- Raise the engineering bar through reviews, guidance, and shared learnings.

- Contribute to defining what great engineering looks like at Jodo.

Collaboration & Influence :

- Partner closely with product, design, DevOps, and leadership teams.

- Communicate technical trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

- Influence without authority through trust, clarity, and technical depth.

Requirements :

- 7+ years of experience in software engineering.

- Proven experience designing and scaling complex systems.

- Strong track record as a senior individual contributor.

- Strong backend expertise (Python, Go, Node.js, or similar).

- Strong frontend expertise with modern frameworks (React preferred).

- Deep understanding of APIs, data flows, and distributed systems.

- Experience designing systems for high availability and performance.

- Strong understanding of trade-offs in distributed systems.

- Experience handling large codebases and complex domains.

- Strong experience with testing strategies, CI/CD, and production operations.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern DevOps practices.
