About the Role :
We are looking for an experienced Principal Firmware Verification Engineer to join our Embedded Systems team. This role offers an opportunity to work on next-generation System-on-Chip (SoC) and high-speed networking devices, contributing to the development and verification of firmware powering advanced communication and embedded platforms.
As a technical lead, you will drive firmware verification activities, mentor engineers, build scalable test frameworks, and collaborate with global engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead firmware verification activities for embedded SoC and networking products.
- Define verification strategies, test plans, and functional test scenarios based on product requirements.
- Design, develop, and execute automated firmware verification test suites using C/C++ and Python.
- Build and maintain scalable test frameworks, regression environments, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Verify embedded firmware, device drivers, and communication protocol implementations.
- Perform firmware validation on FPGA prototypes, evaluation boards, and production hardware.
- Debug firmware, hardware, and system-level issues using standard lab tools.
- Work closely with firmware, hardware, validation, and application engineering teams to resolve defects.
- Mentor engineers, review test designs, and drive engineering best practices.
- Contribute to engineering documentation, process improvements, and verification methodologies.
Required Skills :
- 5-15+ years of experience in Embedded Firmware Verification or Embedded Software Testing.
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
- Experience working with Embedded Systems, SoCs, Microcontrollers, or Networking Devices.
- Hands-on experience with Firmware Verification, Device Driver Testing, and Board Bring-up.
- Strong understanding of Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, IPv4/IPv6, or other embedded communication protocols.
- Experience working with Embedded Linux and/or RTOS environments.
- Hands-on debugging experience using JTAG, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, UART, and related hardware tools.
- Experience with ARM, RISC-V, or MIPS processor architectures.
- Familiarity with FPGA-based prototyping and hardware validation.
- Exposure to CI/CD, automated regression testing, and modern development tools.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience working on Ethernet PHY, Networking SoCs, or Communication Processors.
- Knowledge of networking protocol stacks and embedded driver development.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
