Role Overview :

As a Principal AI Engineer, you will serve as the technical architect and strategic leader for our artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives. You will work closely with product management, data science teams, and senior leadership to define the roadmap for AI-driven features that enhance user experience and operational efficiency across our platforms.

This role involves translating high-level business objectives into scalable AI solutions, mentoring senior engineering talent, and ensuring that our technical infrastructure remains at the cutting edge of industry standards. Your work will directly influence how millions of users interact with our services, driving personalization, search relevance, and automated decision-making at scale.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect and deploy large-scale machine learning systems that improve recommendation engines and search relevance to increase user engagement.

- Lead the technical strategy for integrating Generative AI and LLMs into existing product workflows to automate complex tasks and improve content quality.

- Collaborate with cross-functional product and engineering teams to identify high-impact AI use cases that align with long-term business growth objectives.

- Establish rigorous standards for model performance, monitoring, and governance to ensure reliability and ethical AI practices in production environments.

- Mentor senior engineering staff and foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learning within the AI division.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in designing and deploying production-grade AI/ML models using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX, with a deep understanding of MLOps pipelines.

- Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence stakeholders across organizational boundaries, ensuring alignment between engineering output and business goals.

- Strong proficiency in distributed computing and cloud-native architectures, with the ability to optimize model inference for high-concurrency, low-latency environments.

- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate intricate technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical leadership and product teams.

- A Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, complemented by 15 - 30 years of experience in software engineering and applied AI.

- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, hybrid work environment based in Bangalore, maintaining high standards of accountability and technical rigor.
