About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Kafka Platform Engineer to manage, optimize, and support enterprise-scale Confluent Kafka environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Kafka platform administration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and automation while working in cloud-native environments. This role requires hands-on experience with Kafka operations, platform support, root cause analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure high availability and reliability of the messaging platform.

Key Responsibilities :

- Administer and manage Confluent Kafka Platform, including topics, brokers, producers, consumers, connectors, and clusters.

- Perform advanced troubleshooting of Kafka platform issues, including :

1. AVRO schema mismatches

2. Consumer lag spikes

3. Connector failures

4. ACL and user access issues

5. Configuration and performance-related problems

- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production incidents and implement permanent fixes.

- Perform Kafka platform upgrades, patching, optimization, and complex debugging across Kafka ecosystems and client applications.

- Manage Kafka administration activities including :

1. Topic creation and management

2. ACL configuration

3. User provisioning

4. Connector administration

5. Cluster maintenance

- Drive platform automation, monitoring enhancements, disaster recovery (DR) readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud, and application teams to ensure platform stability and operational excellence.

- Work with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

- Support CI/CD pipelines and coordinate with vendors whenever required to ensure SLA adherence and timely issue resolution.

Required Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka Platform.

- Expertise in Kafka architecture, administration, and platform operations.

- Experience troubleshooting Kafka production environments.

- Strong understanding of :

1. Kafka Topics

2. Brokers

3. Producers & Consumers

4. Connectors

5. Schema Registry

6. ACL Management

- Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA), performance tuning, and production support.

- Hands-on experience in at least one of the following technologies : Java, .NET, Python, or Spring Boot.

- Experience working with AWS or Azure cloud environments.

- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Good to Have :

- Exposure to Terraform.

- Knowledge of DevSecOps.

- Experience with infrastructure automation and monitoring tools.

Eligibility Criteria :

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

- Any Graduate with relevant technical experience may also apply.
