Job Description

CASA Tech Solutions Private Limited:

CASA Tech Solutions Private Limited is building a new kind of computing platform for the home combining custom hardware, embedded software, sensing and connectivity to make the physical home programmable.

We are looking for a PCBA & Embedded Software Engineer who can work across the complete hardware-firmware loop from system architecture and schematic design to PCB, firmware, board bring-up, debugging, validation and production.

This is not a narrow PCB-design or firmware-only role. You will work across hardware and software to turn ideas into working prototypes and reliable products.

Interview Process:

Round 1 - Show us what you've built:

- Deep dive into your strongest PCBA/embedded project, including architecture, schematics, PCB, firmware, debugging, failures and engineering decisions.

Round 2 - Build with us:

- Work through a realistic CASA hardware-firmware problem with the team. We want to understand how you investigate, reason, build, verify and debug.

What to Submit:

- Resume / LinkedIn profile

- 2-3 representative PCBA or embedded projects

- One concrete example of AI accelerating their engineering workflow

- GitHub / schematics / PCB layouts / build logs / photographs / videos / demos, wherever available.

Key Responsibilities:

- Translate product requirements into system architecture, component selection, schematics, PCB layouts, firmware and prototypes.

- Design, review, bring up, debug and validate PCBAs involving microcontrollers, sensors, connectivity, power systems, batteries and peripherals.

- Develop embedded software including BSPs, device drivers, communication protocols, control logic, diagnostics and firmware update mechanisms.

- Own board bring-up and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, debuggers and power supplies.

- Perform root-cause analysis and system-level troubleshooting.

- Make engineering decisions considering cost, performance, power, reliability, manufacturability and serviceability.

- Work closely with product, industrial design, mechanical engineering, suppliers and manufacturing partners.

- Build reusable hardware designs, firmware modules, automated tests and internal engineering tools.

- Use AI tools throughout the engineering process while maintaining responsibility for the correctness and reliability of the final system.

Required Skills:

- 3+ years of hands-on experience in PCBA development, embedded systems or a closely related field.

- Strong experience in schematic design, PCB layout, board bring-up, debugging and validation.

- Strong Embedded C/C++ programming skills.

- Hands-on experience with microcontrollers and embedded hardware.

- Experience with communication interfaces/protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, USB, CAN, BLE, Wi-Fi.

- Good understanding of power electronics, signal integrity, EMC/ESD and thermal considerations.

- Understanding of DFM, DFT and production testing.

- Ability to read and analyse datasheets and make engineering trade-offs independently.

- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

- Ability to take an ambiguous requirement and drive it towards a working and reliable product.

Good to Have:

- Experience with Thread, UWB, IR, sub-GHz RF or other wireless/connected-device technologies.

- Experience with IoT or smart-home products.

- Experience with RTOS.

- Experience working with manufacturing partners and suppliers.

- Personal hardware projects, robots, controllers, wearables, smart-home devices or other electronics projects.

- GitHub, PCB designs, schematics, build logs, photographs, videos or working prototypes.

AI Experience:

At CASA, AI is an engineering multiplier. We are particularly interested in engineers who have actually used AI to significantly accelerate hardware or embedded development. During the interview, you may be asked to demonstrate a real project where AI improved development speed, AI workflows, prompts, agents, scripts or automations used, before/after development timelines, how you verified AI-generated hardware/firmware work, and examples of AI mistakes and how you identified and corrected them.

Education:

- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, ECE, Computer Science or a related engineering discipline. However, strong practical experience and demonstrated projects will carry significant weight.

Who Will Fit Well at CASA:

- You prefer building a working prototype over preparing a long presentation.

- You are comfortable working across electronics and software.

- You take ownership of problems without waiting for perfect specifications.

- You use AI as an engineering multiplier.

- You care about reliability, not just getting a demo working.

- You enjoy working in an early-stage product environment with significant ownership.
