Data Governance Consultant - Python & SQL

We are seeking a skilled Data Governance Consultant with strong expertise in Python and SQL, along with hands-on experience in Atlan and Databricks Governance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing enterprise data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, managing metadata, and using Python and SQL for data validation, analysis, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Governance & Metadata Management :

- Implement and manage data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.

- Drive metadata management, data cataloging, and data lineage initiatives.

- Work extensively with Atlan for data discovery, governance workflows, and catalog management.

- Govern Databricks environments, including Unity Catalog, lineage tracking, access controls, and data classification.

- Design and implement business glossaries and data stewardship models.

- Establish and monitor data quality rules, validations, and governance workflows.

Python-Specific Responsibilities :

- Develop Python scripts for data quality validation, profiling, and governance automation.

- Automate metadata extraction, validation, and governance-related workflows using Python.

- Perform data analysis and identify inconsistencies, duplicates, and quality issues.

- Build scripts to validate data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and integrity.

- Develop automated checks for data governance rules and compliance requirements.

- Use Python libraries such as Pandas for data analysis and validation.

- Troubleshoot data-related issues using Python-based scripts and debugging techniques.

SQL-Specific Responsibilities :

- Write complex SQL queries for data validation, profiling, and quality analysis.

- Perform data reconciliation and identify data inconsistencies across different sources.

- Develop SQL-based data quality rules and validation checks.

- Analyze large datasets to identify missing, duplicate, inaccurate, or inconsistent records.

- Validate data transformations and pipelines using SQL.

- Perform joins, aggregations, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions.

Mandatory Skills :

- 3 - 5 years of experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Quality, or Enterprise Data Management.

- Hands-on experience with Atlan - mandatory.

- Strong expertise in Databricks Governance (Unity Catalog, lineage, access controls).

- Strong Python programming skills for data analysis, validation, and automation.

- Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and data profiling.

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
