As Senior Network Engineer, you will work closely with key stakeholders, including customers and partners to deliver the required outcomes for data and network services.

You will report to the Network Manager, and your accountabilities will include design and deployment for network delivery projects. You must be willing to attend Network cutovers afterhours.

Mandatory skill set : SASE (Prisma) and Cisco Viptela

Responsibilities :

- Lead end-to-end implementation support for network infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to design standards, security policies, and operational best practices.

- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) for critical network incidents across SD-WAN, firewall, LAN, wireless, and cloud environments.

- Ensure high availability and performance of enterprise networks through proactive monitoring, optimization, and capacity planning.

- Develop and maintain technical standards, configuration templates, and operational documentation to improve consistency and delivery efficiency.

- Coordinate with security teams to implement network security controls, including segmentation, access control policies, and secure remote connectivity solutions.

- Support change management activities, including risk assessment, implementation planning, and post-change validation for network changes.

- Participate in on-call or escalation rotations to provide timely resolution of high-priority incidents and service disruptions.

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying automation opportunities and enhancing network operational processes.

Skills and Capabilities :

- Minimum 4 years' experience in the Australian IT industry.

- Minimum 8 years experience working on large scale complex networks.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to articulate solutions clearly and concisely.

- Experience in SDWAN, firewalls, ZTNA , SASE and public cloud.

- Experience configuring & implementing SDWAN with Fortinet , VeloCloud, Cisco Viptela, Palo Alto Prisma Meraki is a MUST.

- Experience configuring & implementing firewalls with FortiGate and Palo Alto is a MUST.

- IP Routing & Switching - Expert knowledge of IP Routing and switching.

- Extensive experience in all the major routing and switching protocols, such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, RIP V2, and Multicast, Spanning Tree, VLANs, ATM, MPLS/Tag Switching, and Data Link Switching.

- Knowledge of enterprise Ethernet, VLANs and L2/L3 Switching & Routing.

- VPN termination including IPSEC/GRE tunnels, FortiClient VPN, Palo Alto GlobalProtect, Cisco VPN client & Site to site VPNs.

- ZTNA and SASE Knowledge and implementation experience.

- Strong troubleshooting skills across networks and cloud platforms.

- Ability to ensure customer privacy regulations are understood and implemented.

- LAN technologies (e.g. Cisco WLCs), Dot1x

- Policy based routing & complex access lists.

- Assist with onsite and cloud installations of new equipment.

Highly Regarded /Desirable Criteria :

- Extensive experience (8+ years) in designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale enterprise network environments, including SD-WAN, firewalls, LAN, and cloud infrastructure.

- Strong hands-on expertise with SD-WAN and firewall technologies such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, VMware VeloCloud, Cisco Viptela, and Meraki.

- Deep knowledge of IP routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs, spanning tree, and enterprise LAN/WAN architectures.

- Proven experience with modern security and connectivity frameworks including ZTNA, SASE, VPN technologies (IPsec/GRE, GlobalProtect, FortiClient), and policy-based routing.

- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to support complex deployments across on-premise and cloud environments.

Qualification :

Vendor certifications will be highly regarded; Palo Alto, Fortinet (NSE 5 and above), Velocloud, Cisco CCIE or CCNP.
