Position Summary :

We are seeking a Technical Writer III, a senior-level documentation professional with strong experience in creating precise, user-centric technical content.

In this role, you will lead documentation initiatives across global teams, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency of product documentation.

You will collaborate closely with engineering, product management, and customer success teams to design and deliver content that empowers users and supports the implementation and adoption of OpenGovs software solutions.

You will also play a strategic role in defining documentation standards, scaling information architecture, mentoring junior writers, and leveraging AI-enabled tools to increase delivery velocity and content quality.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and drive cross-functional collaboration to gather technical insights and convert them into clear, comprehensive documentation.

- Develop and maintain a wide range of technical documents including :

1. End-user guides

2. Administrator manuals

3. API documentation

4. Release notes

5. Online help content

6. How-to tutorials and FAQs

- Create structured content tailored for multiple audiences including system admins, government officials, and support teams.

- Set and implement documentation standards, templates, and style guidelines across the team to ensure consistency and scalability.

- Utilize tools such as Salesforce Knowledge Base, Guru, Confluence, and markdown editors to manage and publish documentation.

- Incorporate feedback from customer support, product teams, and end-users to improve content continuously.

- Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously with tight timelines and shifting priorities.

- Contribute to AI-driven documentation processes by integrating and optimizing tooling that enhances technical content quality and delivery.

- Mentor junior writers, lead peer reviews, and champion documentation best practices across the organization.

Required Qualifications :

- 5- 7 years of hands-on experience in technical writing, preferably in a SaaS or enterprise software environment.

- Proven expertise in developing clear, concise, and high-impact documentation for complex software systems.

- Proficiency in modern documentation platforms (e.g., Salesforce Knowledge, Confluence, Guru) and content management tools.

- Strong command of English with excellent grammar, structure, and editing skills.

- Experience working with distributed global teams across multiple time zones.

- Ability to interpret and synthesize input from engineering, product, and support to produce meaningful and actionable documentation.

- Familiarity with AI-assisted authoring tools and the ability to implement them responsibly to increase content throughput.

- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of independently managing end-to-end documentation projects.

Preferred Skills :

- Background in public sector software or enterprise SaaS products.

- Experience with structured authoring, Markdown/HTML, and version control systems (e.g., Git).

- Basic understanding of REST APIs, software architecture, and deployment models.

- Exposure to Agile development methodologies and product lifecycle processes.
