Role Overview :

The Senior Data Solutions Engineer is a strategic leader responsible for driving the vision and technical direction of OpenGovs data integration practice.

This role combines architectural expertise, customer engagement leadership, and mentorship to deliver transformative, data-driven solutions for government agencies across the U.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define and lead the data integration architecture roadmap for OpenGovs enterprise clients.

- Spearhead complex multi-system integrations involving SaaS platforms, APIs, and legacy data systems.

- Evaluate client data ecosystems and design custom migration frameworks that ensure scalability, reliability, and compliance.

- Partner with product and engineering teams to shape the evolution of OpenGovs data platform capabilities.

- Serve as the escalation point for technically challenging data migration issues.

- Develop internal best practices, playbooks, and reusable libraries for the engineering team.

- Mentor and coach engineers across all experience levels, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

- Represent OpenGov in strategic client discussions and industry forums on data strategy and governance.

Required Skills and Experience :

- 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering, SaaS integration, or ERP data migration.

- Deep expertise in Python, SQL, and enterprise-scale ETL architectures.

- Demonstrated success leading data modernization or cloud migration projects.

- Strong experience with APIs, web services, and data security protocols.

- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication capabilities.

- Background in public sector, finance, or enterprise ERP systems preferred.

- Solid understanding of Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD for data delivery pipelines
