Position Title : Vice President - Head of Engineering (Foundry) | Department : Technology | Grade : 6A

Location : Bangalore, Chennai or Hyderabad

Compensation :

Cash Compensation : Market Competitive

Role Overview :

Foundry develops the foundational platform that powers Omega's revenue cycle product lines and operations. This role leads the engineering organization responsible for that shared platform.

The platform orchestrates AI agents and human specialists as co-registered workers within one system. Work is routed to the best-matched available resource - digital or human - based on skill, capacity, and operating requirements. The orchestration layer, worker registry, and underlying data plane are therefore central to Omega's technology strategy.

You will lead an established platform serving active clients, expanding its capabilities, accuracy, reliability, and level of safe automation while reducing cost per transaction.

Lead the development of the Omega Intelligence Platform - an agentic revenue cycle platform supporting AI agents and hybrid human-plus-AI operations.

What you will lead :

- Agentic Orchestration Layer - routing, the skill registry holding AI agents and human specialists as co-registered workers, tool invocation and flighting

- Platform & Data - the largest team; the unified data plane, pipelines, domain model, data rights and de-identification

- Ingestion & Connector Platform - bidirectional integration with client, clearinghouse and payer systems

- Engagement Plane - the shared channel capability the RCM agents invoke : an agent emits intent ("verify eligibility") and this layer renders it into whichever channel fits - EDI, FHIR, payer API, portal, voice, chat or email

- Evaluation & Reference Data Systems - the measurement infrastructure that certifies a capability before it runs unattended

- Insights & Platform Analytics - what the organization can see about its own platform

- SRE, DevOps & FinOps - deliberately one team, so reliability and cost-to-serve are argued by the same people

- Security Engineering - embedded in the platform rather than reviewing it from outside

Key responsibilities :

- Set technical direction, architecture standards and the engineering roadmap for the Omega Intelligence Platform

- Own the agentic orchestration layer : routing, the co-registration of human and AI workers, tool invocation, and flighting mechanics

- Own the model serving layer - serving, versioning, routing and runtime performance of the models agents call

- Own the unified data plane : ingestion, connectors, domain model, data rights and de-identification, under HIPAA and client obligations

- Own the engagement plane and its channel adapters, including the intent abstraction that keeps channels swappable

- Own evaluation and reference-data systems used to certify a capability before it runs unattended

- Own reliability, latency and cost per transaction, with SRE, DevOps and FinOps accountable as a single team

- Own platform security posture jointly with the security and compliance functions

- Partner with the Clinical RCM and Frontline RCM teams, who build the agents that run on your platform, to deliver the whole as one product rather than a set of components

- Hire, level, develop and retain engineering managers and senior individual contributors

Key partnerships :

- Clinical RCM - builds the clinical and coding RCM agents, and holds applied machine learning and the clinical correctness standard your platform is measured against

- Frontline RCM - builds the operational RCM agents and the interaction layers to patients, payers and human agents that run on your engagement plane

- Autonomous Operations - runs in production what your teams build

- Governance & Assurance - certifies accuracy independently and can stop a release

- Implementation - client onboarding, connector reuse and intake build effort

What success looks like in the first 12 months :

- 0 - 90 days : Assessment of platform, organization and roadmap; twelve-month technical plan agreed with the CTO; leadership gaps identified

- 3 - 6 months : Accuracy, latency and cost-per-transaction baselines established; evaluation coverage in place for priority workflows; orchestration and data plane roadmap under way

- 6 - 12 months : Agreed capability and autonomy increases delivered on priority workflows; cost per transaction reduced against baseline; named reliability and security gaps closed

Qualifications :

Required :

- 15+ years in software engineering, including 8+ years leading engineering teams and 3+ years leading managers

- Run a platform or infrastructure organization of 50+ engineers serving internal product teams

- Delivered machine learning or LLM systems into production in a regulated, financial, clinical or otherwise high-consequence setting

- Built or owned large-scale data platforms, including multi-tenant data handling and access control

- Built or owned evaluation and measurement infrastructure for ML systems

- Accountability for an engineering and infrastructure budget

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience

Preferred :

- US healthcare : revenue cycle, clinical coding, claims processing, EDI, FHIR or EHR integration

- HIPAA-regulated or PHI-handling environments

- Production agentic systems with tool use, multi-step execution and model serving at scale

- Workflow or work-routing platforms that allocate across both automated and human capacity

- Private-equity-backed or high-growth environment

- Leading distributed teams across India and the US

Why this opportunity is distinctive :

- Lead a platform that coordinates a hybrid workforce, modeling the availability, skills, and capacity of both human specialists and AI agents.

- Help shape a rigorous, multi-stakeholder approach to autonomy, with independent evaluation, product accountability, and controlled production ramp-up.

- Lead reliability and cost management within one organization, enabling balanced, informed operating decisions.

- Make platform quality a direct contributor to client trust, retention, and growth in a market where security, compliance, reliability, and performance are critical.
