As an early-stage company, we operate with a strong bias towards ownership, speed, experimentation, and measurable outcomes. Every team member is expected to solve problems end-to-end, challenge assumptions, and turn ideas into execution.

What You Will Own :

- Own a service end to end - schema, API, deployment, dashboards, and alerts - rather than picking up tickets against someone else's design.

- Make the failure cases boring : idempotency, retries, timeouts, dead-letter handling, and a reconciliation job that catches what all three miss.

- Write design notes before large changes, and reviews that improve the code rather than approve it.

- Debug production with logs, metrics, and traces - and fix the cause, not the symptom.

Skills and Experience :

Required :

- 5+ years building backend systems that real users depend on, with strong fundamentals in at least one of Rust, Go, Java, Python or Node.

- You have worked on a system where work crosses service boundaries and some of it fails - queues or streams, retries and idempotency, caching and invalidation, a migration done without downtime.

- SQL and NoSQL : solid relational skills - schema design, indexing, transactions, reading a query plan, fixing a slow query without reaching for a cache - plus working use of at least one non-relational store.

- AWS : you have deployed and debugged your own services on AWS. ECS or EKS, RDS, S3, SQS or SNS, IAM, and CloudWatch or equivalent.

- REST API design that survives contact with other teams : versioning, error semantics, pagination, and auth.

- Git, CI, and testing habits you do not need reminding about.

- Writing clear enough that a short design note settles a disagreement.

- Strong attention to detail and a high bar for execution.

Nice to Have :

- Payments, lending, or banking backend work - UPI, NPCI rails, KYC, credit bureaus, collections, or a ledger you had to keep balanced.

- Event-driven systems in production : Kafka, SQS, Temporal, CDC, or the transactional outbox pattern.

- Rust, or a genuine willingness to learn it - our core service is Rust on ECS.

- LLM-backed features that reached production, with evaluation and cost control rather than a demo.

- Open-source contributions, a side project people actually use, or a competitive programming record.

- Early-stage startup experience, where the requirements changed under you and you shipped anyway.
