About Utsav :

Utsav (utsavapp.in) is a venture-backed devotion-tech startup a platform for booking Hindu pujas, temple services and spiritual offerings online, live in Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. The product is live and growing; we are now scaling 1-100.

The Role :

Our tech team is 4 people, including the Founder & CTO. You will be the senior-most engineering hire a player-coach who builds hands-on AND leads. You will report directly to the Founder & CTO.

Our stack :

Node.js/TypeScript backends, React Native (Expo) mobile app, Next.js admin, PostgreSQL, GKE on GCP, AWS Lambda + SQS, payment gateway integrations (Razorpay, PayU, PhonePe).

But here's the thing we don't hire for languages. With AI-assisted development, syntax is cheap. Engineering judgment, system design and the hunger to learn anything are what we pay for.

What you will do :

- Own systems end-to-end : backend, mobile, infra, data no silos, full-stack ownership

- Bring the experience of scale from your previous companies : reliability, performance, engineering practices that hold up under growth

- Lead and mentor a small, fast-moving team; be the technical bar-raiser

- Research - prototype - production, fast; if you don't know something, you learn it, research it, and ship it

- Work directly with the Founder & CTO on architecture and technical roadmap

Who we are looking for :

- 7-8+ years building and operating production systems, with genuine exposure to scale

- Strong fundamentals : system design, databases, cloud infrastructure, debugging under fire

- Language-agnostic, polyglot mindset you pick up whatever the problem needs

- Player-coach leadership : leads without ego, ships without hand-holding
