Job Description

Role Overview :

As a Microsoft Purview Engineer based in Gurugram, you will serve as a technical subject matter expert responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust data governance and security frameworks. You will work closely with cross-functional IT teams, security architects, and business stakeholders to ensure that organizational data is cataloged, protected, and compliant with global regulatory standards. Your work will directly influence the company's data integrity and security posture, ensuring that sensitive information is handled with precision across the enterprise ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect and deploy Microsoft Purview solutions to establish comprehensive data governance and cataloging across hybrid cloud environments.

- Configure and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies to mitigate risks associated with unauthorized data exfiltration and ensure compliance with internal security mandates.

- Execute end-to-end data mapping and classification projects to provide stakeholders with clear visibility into data lineage and sensitivity.

- Collaborate with security teams to implement Information Protection labels, ensuring that sensitive documents and assets are encrypted and tracked throughout their lifecycle.

- Troubleshoot and optimize Purview configurations to enhance data discovery capabilities and improve the accuracy of compliance reporting for internal audits.

- Partner with business units to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable technical controls within the Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystem.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in configuring and managing Microsoft Purview, including Data Catalog, Data Map, and Information Protection modules.

- Proven ability to design and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies that align with enterprise security policies and industry compliance standards.

- Strong analytical skills to perform data mapping and lineage analysis, ensuring high-quality data governance across diverse platforms.

- Excellent communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between technical security requirements and business operational needs.

- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid office environment in Gurugram, collaborating with distributed teams to deliver high-impact security projects.

- A minimum of 3 - 6 years of hands-on experience in data security, governance, or compliance engineering roles.

- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, complemented by relevant Microsoft certifications in security and compliance.
