Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Microsoft Purview Data Engineer / Data Governance Engineer to support and enhance enterprise-wide data governance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, metadata management, data cataloging, data lineage, and governance frameworks. This role will work closely with business, data, security, and engineering teams to establish trusted, compliant, and discoverable data assets across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Governance & Catalog Management:

- Implement and manage Microsoft Purview for enterprise data governance.

- Configure and maintain data catalogs, business glossaries, and metadata repositories.

- Establish and manage data lineage, data classification, and data discovery processes.

- Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance standards are met across data platforms.

- Support data stewardship activities and governance operating models.

Data Engineering & Integration:

- Integrate Microsoft Purview with various data sources, databases, cloud platforms, and analytics environments.

- Automate metadata collection, scanning, and classification processes.

- Support data ingestion, catalog synchronization, and governance workflows.

- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement governance controls throughout the data lifecycle.

Security & Compliance:

- Implement data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance controls.

- Support audit requirements and governance reporting.

- Work with security teams to define access controls and data protection policies.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Partner with business stakeholders, data owners, and technical teams to understand governance requirements.

- Conduct governance workshops and user training sessions.

- Drive adoption of data governance best practices across the organization.
