Position Summary :
MCO is seeking a highly experienced Senior Product Owner to lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of Enterprise Data products and capabilities that serve as foundational services across the MCO platform.
This role is responsible for defining and evolving enterprise data capabilities that provide trusted information about organizations, legal entities, securities and other reference data used throughout MCO solutions.
The role will drive initiatives related to master data management, data governance, data quality, and data lifecycle management while ensuring that Enterprise Data remains scalable, reusable, and aligned with business objectives.
The successful candidate will possess a strong combination of product management expertise, enterprise data domain knowledge, business acumen, and data architecture experience.
This individual will partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, Operations, Compliance SMEs, and external data providers such as S&P Global and other strategic data partners to ensure MCO's enterprise data assets remain accurate, governed, and strategically positioned to support future growth.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Product Strategy & Roadmap Management :
- Define and own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Enterprise Data products and capabilities.
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned with organizational goals, customer needs, and product strategies.
- Drive prioritization decisions across multiple stakeholders, balancing strategic investments, business priorities, technical considerations, and operational needs.
- Establish product success metrics and monitor outcomes against strategic objectives.
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, governance, scalability, operational efficiency, and product enablement.
- Evaluate industry trends, emerging technologies, and market opportunities to inform product direction.
2. Product Ownership & Delivery :
- Own and manage the Enterprise Data product backlog.
- Ensure requirements are clearly documented, communicated, and understood by delivery teams.
- Lead backlog refinement sessions and actively participate in Agile ceremonies.
- Partner with Engineering and QA teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Make informed trade-off decisions balancing business value, technical feasibility, delivery timelines, and risk.
- Ensure successful delivery of high-quality solutions that meet stakeholder expectations.
3. Enterprise Data Product Leadership :
- Lead the evolution of enterprise data products that provide authoritative information for organizations, legal entities, securities, and reference data.
- Drive initiatives related to :
i. Master Data Management (MDM)
ii. Reference Data Management
iii. Data Governance
iv. Data Quality Management
v. Data De-Duplication
vi. Data Retention & Lifecycle Management
- Establish business ownership, stewardship models, and governance processes for critical data assets.
- Define business rules and standards that promote consistency and reuse across MCO products.
- Ensure enterprise data capabilities support both current and future platform requirements.
4. Data Architecture & Platform Strategy :
- Partner closely with Architecture and Engineering teams to define the long-term evolution of MCO's enterprise data ecosystem.
- Provide product leadership on enterprise data architecture decisions, ensuring solutions align with business objectives and enterprise standards.
- Drive discussions around :
i. Enterprise Data Models
ii. Master Data Architecture
iii. Data Integration Patterns
iv. Data Lineage and Traceability
v. Metadata Management
vi. Data Distribution and Consumption Models
vii. API and Event-Driven Data Architectures
- Evaluate architectural trade-offs and their impact on scalability, maintainability, and business value.
- Ensure enterprise data capabilities are designed for reuse across multiple products and business functions.
5. Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Leadership :
- Build strong relationships across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Operations, and Business teams.
- Facilitate alignment on priorities, dependencies, scope, and delivery plans.
- Communicate product vision, roadmap updates, risks, and progress to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for enterprise data initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives involving multiple product and technology teams.
Skills & Qualifications :
1. Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.
- 12+ years of Product Management, Product Ownership, Data Product Management, or related experience.
- Proven experience managing enterprise data products, shared data platforms, or master data initiatives.
- Strong experience developing and executing product roadmaps.
- Deep understanding of :
i. Master Data Management (MDM)
ii. Reference Data Management
iii. Data Governance
iv. Data Quality Management
v. Data De-Duplication
vi. Data Retention & Lifecycle Management
- Experience defining and evolving enterprise data products in partnership with Architecture and Engineering teams.
- In depth understanding of enterprise data architecture, data structures, master data management, data modeling, data integration patterns, data lineage, metadata management, and data distribution strategies.
- In-depth understanding of Security and Business entity master.
- Experience working with external data providers such as S&P Global, FactSet, LSEG/Refinitiv, Bloomberg, Dun & Bradstreet, Moody's, or similar organizations.
- Experience within Compliance, RegTech, Financial Services, Capital Markets or Risk Management.
- Strong knowledge of Agile product delivery methodologies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Experience leading enterprise-wide data governance or master data management programs.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and modern data ecosystems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience working with CI/CD, DevOps, and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies.
2. Preferred Qualifications :
- Familiarity with the AI product lifecycle, prompt engineering concepts, and ethical AI considerations.
