Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Android HMI Developer with strong expertise in Automotive Infotainment and Human Machine Interface (HMI) development. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing and developing next-generation Android-based IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) applications using Java, Kotlin, and Jetpack Compose. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to build intuitive, high-performance, and user-centric infotainment experiences for automotive platforms.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and develop Android-based HMI applications for automotive infotainment systems.

- Develop scalable and responsive user interfaces using Jetpack Compose and Android UI frameworks.

- Implement HMI features aligned with automotive UX guidelines and design specifications.

- Integrate HMI applications with vehicle services, middleware, and infotainment platform components.

- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, architects, product owners, and validation teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

- Optimize application performance, responsiveness, and memory utilization for embedded automotive environments.

- Develop reusable UI components and frameworks for infotainment platforms.

- Analyze system requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, integration issues, and performance bottlenecks.

- Support system integration, validation, and release activities.

- Contribute to architecture discussions and technology roadmaps for future HMI platforms.

- Ensure compliance with automotive quality, safety, and development standards.

- Work closely with global engineering teams and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.

Required Skills :

- Strong experience in Automotive Domain and Infotainment Systems.

- Expertise in Android Application Development.

- Proficiency in Java and Kotlin programming.

- Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose.

- Strong experience in HMI (Human Machine Interface) development.

- Experience with Android Automotive OS (AAOS) and Android-based IVI platforms.

- Good understanding of IVI architecture and infotainment ecosystems.

- Knowledge of Android Framework, Services, Activities, Fragments, and UI components.

- Experience in REST API integration and communication frameworks.

- Understanding of embedded software development concepts.

- Knowledge of automotive UX guidelines and design principles.

- Experience with debugging, profiling, and performance optimization tools.

- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with Android Automotive OS customization.

- Exposure to CAN, Vehicle HAL, and automotive middleware integration.

- Understanding of functional safety and automotive quality practices.

- Experience working with global automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.

Candidate Profile :

- 10 to 15 years of software development experience with significant exposure to Android HMI development.

- Proven experience in Automotive Infotainment and IVI programs.
