Role Overview:

As a Linux Device Driver Engineer, you will be at the heart of our hardware-software integration efforts, architecting and maintaining low-level drivers that power our next-generation product lines. You will work in a highly collaborative environment, partnering closely with hardware design teams, firmware engineers, and system architects to ensure seamless performance across our platforms. Your contributions will directly influence the stability, power efficiency, and responsiveness of our devices, ensuring a premium experience for our end users and maintaining our competitive edge in the market. This role is based in our Bangalore and Kochi offices, operating in a hybrid model that balances deep technical focus with cross-functional team synergy.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and optimize Linux kernel drivers to ensure high-performance communication between hardware components and the operating system.

- Debug complex system-level issues by performing root cause analysis on kernel panics, memory leaks, and interrupt latency to improve overall system reliability.

- Collaborate with hardware engineering teams during the board bring-up phase to validate peripheral functionality and ensure hardware-software alignment.

- Implement power management features and thermal mitigation strategies to enhance the battery life and thermal profile of our mobile and embedded devices.

- Contribute to upstream kernel development and maintain internal codebases to keep our software stack aligned with the latest Linux community standards.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in C programming and Linux kernel internals, with a deep understanding of memory management, process scheduling, and interrupt handling.

- Proven ability to navigate and modify device tree configurations and board support packages for ARM-based architectures.

- Strong analytical mindset for troubleshooting hardware-software interfaces, coupled with the ability to communicate technical constraints clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field, providing a solid foundation in operating system theory and computer architecture.

- Exceptional interpersonal skills that facilitate effective knowledge sharing within a distributed team structure across our Bangalore and Kochi locations.

- High degree of adaptability in a fast-paced R&D environment, with the ability to pivot between independent deep-work sessions and collaborative team sprints.
