Role Overview:
As a Linux Device Driver Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing and integrating device drivers for cutting-edge embedded systems. Your day-to-day activities will involve designing, developing, testing, and debugging Linux kernel drivers. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, kernel developers, and BSP teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components. Your work will directly impact the performance, stability, and functionality of our products, ultimately enhancing the user experience and driving business success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and debug Linux device drivers for various hardware peripherals, ensuring optimal performance and stability for embedded systems.
- Integrate and customize Board Support Packages (BSPs) for different hardware platforms, enabling rapid prototyping and product development.
- Perform board bring-up activities, including hardware initialization, driver validation, and system-level testing, to ensure proper hardware functionality.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to understand hardware specifications and design drivers that meet performance and functional requirements, accelerating product development cycles.
- Contribute to the Linux kernel community by submitting patches and participating in open-source projects, enhancing our reputation and attracting top talent.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated ability to develop and debug Linux kernel device drivers for various hardware interfaces (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, USB, PCIe).
- Proven experience in board bring-up activities and BSP customization for embedded Linux systems.
- Strong understanding of Linux kernel internals, device driver architecture, and memory management.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to analyze complex system-level issues.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Adaptable to an on-site work environment in Hyderabad.
